BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Burlington is set to push protesters away from Planned Parenthood.
The city council passed a plan for a 35-foot buffer zone -- with a 13-to-1 vote. Republican Paul Decelles voted no. The buffer means demonstrators would have to stand across the street. Anti-abortion activists gather outside the women's health center every Wednesday. But clients -- and people who work at Planned Parenthood -- say some protesters follow - and intimidate women trying to access services.
Legal experts say buffer zones are a way to balance free speech - with free access for clients.
