Toddler dies after falling into swimming pool

NEWPORT, N.H. -

A toddler who fell into her family's swimming pool has died.

Police believe 1-year-old Macie Emery was in the pool for more than 10 minutes before she was discovered by her mother Sunday evening in Newport, N.H.

Emergency crews were able to revive Emery and brought her to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, but she died Monday.

Police say the pool's safety fence and gates were unsecured right before Emery was found.
