New details regarding deadly motorcycle crash

BENNINGTON, Vt. -

Police are now blaming speed, alcohol and drugs for a deadly motorcycle crash last month in Bennington.

Gavin Briggs, 28, died when he collided with an SUV at the intersection of Dewey and Weeks streets.

Police say Briggs was drunk and going twice the posted speed limit of 30 mph. The autopsy also revealed he had taken a prescription painkiller that had not been prescribed to him.
