BURLINGTON, Vt. -
While most people are still focused on enjoying the summer, political candidates are out looking for votes and raising money.
New campaign finance numbers just came out.
In the money race for Vermont governor, Peter Shumlin is still in the lead. The incumbent Democrat reports raising $676,000 for his re-election campaign. He's spent $51,000, leaving $625,000 cash on hand.
Republican Randy Brock has raised $529,000 so far. Brock has spent considerably more than Shumlin at $282,000. He has $247,000 left in the bank.
