RUTLAND, Vt. -
The Gift of Life mini-marathon blood drive Tuesday brought in 415 pints of blood.
That makes it the second largest blood drive in Vermont, after the original winter event at Rutland's Paramount Theater.
Organizers decided to hold a second, smaller event in the summer because they say donations dwindle once school is out and families are on vacations, which often creates a blood supply shortage in the region.
