BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The Vermont Brewers Festival kicks off Friday.
It is the 20th anniversary of the event on Burlington's waterfront.
The event is a celebration of Vermont craft breweries. Fifteen new beers will be introduced at the festival, which has continuously grown in popularity, selling out months in advance.
This year 40 different breweries will be represented, and even though it is called the Vermont Brewers Festival, attendees will get a taste of much more.
"We have 20 Vermont brewers participating, and we have people coming in from Michigan, California, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York and Maine. It is an amazing selection. You'll have more than 200 beers to choose from," says festival director Laura Streets.
All in all 500 kegs of beer will poured over the two-day event. They will use the Twitter hashtag #vtbeers for the event.
