DHMC settles claims of improper billing

LEBANON, N.H. -

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center will pay a half million dollars to settle claims it improperly billed the federal government for Medicare and Medicaid.

Federal prosecutors say the overbilling occurred between 2004 and 2008.

In settling the lawsuit, the hospital admits no wrongdoing, but will pay $551,000 to the feds and the states of Vermont and New Hampshire.
