TICONDEROGA, N.Y. -
A Revolutionary War battle will come to life again this weekend in New York.
About 250 re-enactors from New York, New England, Maryland and Virginia will come to Fort Ticonderoga to restage a key military maneuver.
Saturday evening, they will use a system of ropes and harnesses to haul a cannon through the village of Ticonderoga to the summit of nearby Mount Defiance.
Back in July of 1777, that gave the British guns a clear shot of the fort below, and the American garrison had to abandon the fort.
