
Unemployment ticked slightly upward in Vermont last month-- a move the Shumlin administration blames on seasonal adjustments in the workforce.
The rate for June was 4.7 percent-- up one-tenth from May. That compares to a national unemployment rate that held steady at 8.2 percent.
Labor Commissioner Annie Noonan says the state actually had positive job growth in June, but that did not overcome job losses that come each year with the end of the school year.
