VERGENNES, Vt. -
Some classic boats gave Lake Champlain a little extra sparkle Saturday.
The annual small boat festival pulled into port this weekend at the Maritime Museum. Highlights include classic crafts, restoration courses and competitions. Presenters say it's easy to get sucked in to the hobby of collecting wooden boats.
"The first drive is preservation, but the other is: this is just incredible art," said Michael Claudon of Snake Mountain Boatworks.
Sunday, kids will have a chance to launch their own vessels.
The annual duct-tape regatta pushes off at 3 p.m.
