Bear causes pileup on I-91

VERNON, Vt. -

A big mess on I-91 in Southern Vermont Saturday evening after a bear in the northbound lane triggered a multi-car accident.
    

It happened around 11 p.m. near the Vermont welcome center in Vernon.  Police say a black bear was crossing the Interstate and was struck by a car.  Four cars behind it then plowed into the bear's carcass.  Police say all five vehicles were damaged, but that no one was hurt.
