BENNINGTON, Vt. -
Taxpayers in Bennington could be on the hook for $4 million for emergency river work completed after Tropical Storm Irene.
It's work FEMA decided last week not to reimburse. Now Congressman Peter Welch says he will work to get this decision reversed.
The town took out a $5 million line of credit to remove debris from the Roaring Branch River. Welch says he'll support the town in filing an appeal.
