LEBANON, N.H. -
The police department in Lebanon, N.H., is turning back the clock with a new fleet of cruisers.
Eight new vehicles with a retro look are being added to the department.
Unlike the old cars, which were solid blue, the new cruisers are two-tone blue and white. Police officers say they have a similar look to the department's vehicles in the 1980s.
"These cars are highly visible. They are easily identifiable and it really is the traditional municipal look that we have seen over the years. This is a little different in that it is blue and white versus black and white, but we did that because it is reminiscent of our past cruisers," Lebanon Police Chief Jim Alexander said.
Every three years the department changes out its fleet of cars. Police officers say the cars become expensive to maintain after their 100,000 mile warrantee expires.
