
NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) - Fire officials believe lightning strikes started a fire that destroyed a home and barn in Newport, N.H.
WMUR-TV reports firefighters said the first lightning bolt hit a propane tank at about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday. A second one hit the barn shortly after that.
Officials said the flames quickly spread to the house.
The family that lives in the house escaped safely.
