BURLINGTON, Vt. -
An out of control driver hit 9 cars during rush hour in Burlington.
Police say 29-year-old Byung Lee slammed head-on into a car on Pine Street near Maple Street. The impact sent Byung's vehicle careening into 8 other parked cars. Police say he was speeding may have been under the influence and was driving recklessly before the wreck. After he came to a stop police say he was so agitated he assaulted a firefighter. Byung was wrestled to the ground and restrained by other firefighters and officers. Witnesses couldn't believe what they saw.
"He came flying up through the road doing 80 mph. He was coming up
through the center line of traffic and he had a collision here and he
knocked the car off the road, an elderly woman, and then came up here
and hit all these vehicles," a man who witnessed the crash said.
Byung and the woman driving the other car were taken to the hospital. Byung is facing several charges including gross careless and negligent driving, and assault. He's being processed for DUI-Drugs. Police also found pot in his car
