Man charged in Shoreham crash

SHOREHAM, Vt. -

Police say a distracted driver is now facing negligent operation charges following a dramatic crash in Shoreham.

It happened on Route 74 two weeks ago.

Police say Mark Thomas reached over to pick something up in his car, crossed the center line and hit a dump truck that then flipped and spilled its load of rock on another car.

Police said it was a miracle that no one was seriously injured, including Thomas' 2-month-old daughter, who was a passenger in his car.
