BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The head of cardiology at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington says his department might be small, but they do big things. The challenge is making Vermonters aware of it.
"Vermonters aren't big in shining their light brightly; we tend to put it under a bushel basket. And I think what Vermonters should be proud of is the active research that's going on here and the breakthroughs that are going on here," Dr. David Schneider said.
Nearly 30 doctors work in the cardiology department and most of them conduct research and treat patients. Schneider says because everyone does everything it gives his department more flexibility.
