9 NH companies get job training grants

Posted: Updated:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Nine New Hampshire companies have received nearly $200,000 in grants from a job training fund.

The grants were awarded this month as part of the state's effort to help companies train workers. Nearly 200 workers will benefit from the latest round of grants.

Since Gov. John Lynch made it a priority to reinstate the program in 2007, the state has issued nearly $5 million in grants to help train nearly 14,000 workers.

The nine companies receiving grants are: Gorham Paper & Tissue in Gorham, New Hampshire Industries of Lebanon, Markem-Imaje Corp. in Keene, Corning Specialty Materials in Keene, Company C in Concord, FSM Drawings of Manchester, Stonyfield in Londonderry, Madison Resource Funding of Portsmouth and Airex Corp. of Somersworth.
