Man airlifted after driving into gorge

ROCKINGHAM, Vt. -

A Chester man had to be air lifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after police say he intentionally drove his car down 200 feet down the Brockway Mills Gorge.

State police say the driver, Gregory Picz, 38, totalled his Ford Explorer in the process, and hurt himself. Though he was able to climb out of the car through a window and climb up the gorge to a nearby home where he asked for help.

He was transported via helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock and is reportedly in stable condition.

He was cited for a DUI.
