SHELBURNE, Vt. (AP) - A new sidewalk is being constructed as part of a building and landscaping plan for Shelburne Museum in Vermont.
The Burlington Free Press reports the sidewalk will stretch from the museum's covered bridge along U.S. 7 and curve into the museum entrance. It will give pedestrians a walkway along the western side of the busy road that passes through Shelburne.
The first phase will start next month at the covered bridge and head south about 1,600 feet. That's expected to be completed in September. The second phase next spring will extend the sidewalk along the site of the museum's $7 million Center for Art and Education under construction.
