Chad Prentiss
BENNINGTON, Vt. -
The assistant fire chief in Bennington pleaded not guilty Monday to DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
On July 13, police responded to a call of a truck that crashed, lost a tire, and then drove away.
Chad Prentiss admitted the truck was his but told police he misjudged a curb, hit a utility pole and drove away.
The Bennington Banner reports police say they smelled alcohol on Prentiss' breath.
Court records show he had a DUI conviction in 1998.
