BARTON, Vt. -
Vandals beat vendors to the Orleans
County Fair. The sheriff's department says someone broke into the fair's
maintenance shop, stole paint and wrote racial slurs all over the fairgrounds
in Barton. Fire extinguishers were also set off inside some buildings.
Crews are working hard to tidy things
up before the fair opens this season Aug. 15.
"Very hurtful, very
hurtful. We've worked very hard. This will be the 145th fair and we'll be
better than ever. It will be OK. This is just a little speed bump," said
Roberta Royer of the Orleans County Fair.
Anyone with information on
the vandalism is asked to call the sheriff's department.
