SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Air National Guard is going to be conducting an exercise at its South Burlington base that will include simulated gunfire and explosions.
There will be flying operations on Saturday as well as ground-based military exercises at the base at the Burlington International Airport.
The exercises will simulate military attacks on the base and will assess the unit's ability to survive an attack.
The guard says no live ammunition will be used, but some gunfire may be heard near the base.
The flying schedule will include multiple F-16 launches on Saturday beginning after 8 am and concluding around 4 p.m.
Guard officials will also be using a public address system that could be heard outside the base.
