Traffic stop turns into pot bust

HYDE PARK, Vt. -

A routine traffic stop in Hyde Park turned into a pot bust.

Timothy McGowan, 35, was stopped for speeding when the Vermont State Police spotted marijuana plants growing in buckets in his vehicle.

After a search, police also recovered a misdemeanor amount of processed marijuana as well.

The Waterbury Center man was arrested for Felony Cultivation and Possession of Marijuana and was later released on a citation to appear in court.
