Crash sends passenger, pedestrian to hospital

POWNAL, Vt. -

Police say a Bennington man was speeding with three passengers in his pickup truck when he struck a pedestrian in Pownal Tuesday night.

Police say William Lacroix, 18, lost control on Jackson Cross Road and struck a pedestrian before hitting a tree.

The pedestrian and a passenger suffered serious injuries and were flown to the Albany Medical Center. Lacroix and the other two passengers were not seriously injured.

Police say neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the crash. No one was wearing a seat belt.
