BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A New Hampshire community is letting troubled teens know there are people around who want to help. That's the focus of a new Public Service Announcement WCAX made in collaboration with the Lebanon Police Department.
In the video, teachers, coaches, counselors, firefighters and law enforcement officers talk about the pressures kids face today and the people that they can turn to.
Lebanon Police Chief Jim Alexander appeared on The :30 to talk about why he spearheaded the project.
"It seemed to me that kids are under a whole lot of stress. And how can we let them know there is a future out there, as adults, as people who have been around? We understand that you go through rough times, you experience things that are hard and at the end of it you do make it through. It seems to me and the policemen in my community that these kids maybe don't have that perspective," Alexander said.
