BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A warning from the Vermont Health Department about bats.
Health officials say they're seeing an increase in people reporting bats getting trapped inside homes and camps. While heat and open doors and windows are the likely cause officials are reminding folks that bats can carry rabies. Four of the 65 bats tested so far this year have been rabid. The Health Department says if a bat was in a room where someone was asleep or was in a room with an unattended child the bat should be tested.
