BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A Vermont filmmaker is bringing his movie home to Burlington.
Parker Croft's film "Falling Overnight" follows a 22-year-old, played by Croft, about to undergo a risky surgery to remove a brain tumor. He meets and bonds with a young photographer through the course of a day and together they have to face his uncertain future.
Croft said the timeline of the film was what drew him to it.
"I guess what really excited me was the film takes place in sort of a 24-hour period and to be dealing with the highest highs and the lowest lows in that period," he says.
The film has won more than 15 awards so far. It opens Friday at the Merrill Roxy in Burlington-- the same building where Croft saw his first movie. He says it will play there for about a week.
Croft says there will be a question and answer session after the film as well.
