LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) - The Adirondack Mountain Club has released the fourth edition of its trail guide for the eastern Adirondack region that includes Lake George, the Pharaoh Lakes Wilderness, and trails north and east of Great Sacandaga Lake.
"Adirondack Mountain Club Eastern Trails" is designed to be used with the new edition of National Geographic's Trails Illustrated Map 743: Lake George/Great Sacandaga.
Guidebook editor David Thomas-Train has added numerous new trails, including Cat and Thomas mountains and the trails into Berry Pond.
The guide is the second volume of the club's new Forest Preserve Series of guidebooks covering the Adirondacks and Catskills. Volume 1, "High Peaks Trails," comes out in late August.
The club has worked with National Geographic to update its five-map Trails Illustrated series, which covers the entire Adirondack Park.
