The Vermont State Police barracks in Rutland may move from the current McKinley Avenue location, but it won't be anytime soon. The state has advertised for a parcel of unimproved land for a new public safety building. Officials say it's all part of a larger study involving new locations for several barracks.
The Rutland Herald reports that officials will prioritize the potential projects, and unless Rutland is at the top of the list, changes would be at least a decade away.
