
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York officials say they're providing almost $16 million to 67 organizations around the state to help fight homelessness and provide housing.
Among the funding announced by the state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance:
15 groups in the Capital Region will receive a total of nearly $2.6 million.
8 in the Mid-Hudson Valley will receive a total of $1.6 million.
3 in the Southern Tier will receive about $883,000.
4 in the North Country will also get about $883,000.
And one in the Mohawk Valley will get almost $175,000.
Many of the grants are to renew funding for existing programs.
