DERBY LINE, Vt. -
It's a day dedicated to Derby Line.
Saturday, thousands took part in the 11th annual Derby Line Day and yard sale. Live music, performers and venders from around New England flocked to the area to spend the day in the small town near the Canadian border. Organizers say the event started small and grows by hundreds each year.
Organizer Brian Fletcher said, "I just think we wanted to do something for our own village derby line to show people we were here and try to get people involved."
The town spent 5 thousand dollars for performers. Local sponsors chip in for a 40-minute firework show that closed the celebration Saturday night.
