BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A high speed chase that crossed state lines in a stolen truck.
Police in Lyme, Piermont, and Orford, New Hampshire began pursuing a truck late Saturday night. The pursuit crossed into Vermont and several occupants of the vehicle fled on foot shortly after crossing the border. The driver of the truck, 30-year-old Patrick Stout of Fairlee, was eventually taken into custody after he ditched the car and tried to run.
Police say Stout had cocaine on him at the time of his arrest. Police also say the truck was reported stolen. Stout is charged with DUI, operating without owner's consent, and possession of cocaine.
