PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
The city beach in Plattsburgh remains closed for fears of possible water contamination.
The closure follows last week's heavy rainfall. The city is conducting tests on the water, but the results are not back, so the swimming area remains closed as a precaution.
City officials say that while the water is off limits, the beach property is open for other activities like picnicking and volleyball. And there is no fee to use the beach while the swimming area is closed.
