Rabies arrives in Essex County, NY

WILMINGTON, N.Y. -

Rabies has arrived in Essex County, N.Y.

A rabid raccoon was found in Wilmington.

Health officials remind owners that pets and livestock should be vaccinated. But even if they are, vaccinated animals that come in contact with wild animals must be given a rabies booster within 5 days.
