Police look for Vt. man who apparently removed tracking device

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Corrections has issued an escape notice for a man who apparently removed his required GPS tracking device.

The department says 30-year-old Robert Wade was in a program at a treatment center in Bellows Falls that provides counseling for people working on their sobriety.

The department said the ankle device was no longer recognized as of Friday night shortly after Wade attended a rules violations meeting with corrections officials.

The Eagle Times reports Wade was previously cited for allegedly operating a vehicle without consent and attempting to elude authorities. Police say escaped from another treatment center in the past.
