WOODSTOCK, Vt. -
A new historic marker in Woodstock.
The marker honors the memory of Marianne Faulkner. Faulkner moved to Woodstock in 1898. She was a generous donor in the field of health care and an endowment continues to support the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
In 2009, DHMC renamed its Doctors Office Building the Faulkner Building.
Faulkner also helped pay for the Woodstock Recreation Center, which was dedicated in 1950. The neighboring Little Theater also received her support.
