BARTON, Vt. -
The Orleans County Fair in Barton is in full swing.
Before the rain set in Thursday afternoon, harness racers took to the track for some fast-paced excitement. There are also a lot of animals at the fair moving at a much slower pace. A number of Heifers were competing for top prizes with their young handlers.
And if it's the traditional fair attractions that get you going, there's plenty there for folks looking to take a spin on the Ferris wheel and other popular rides.
So far even the youngest fans say this week's festivities have been a hit.
"It's been really good so far. I really like how it's going, I really do," fairgoer Liam McAuliff said.
"Love the fairgrounds, love the atmosphere, love what we're able to bring to young and old in an old-time agricultural fair," said Kim Brooks of the Orleans County Fair.
The Orleans County Fair is celebrating its 145th anniversary. Organizers stress they're trying to make sure there is something for everyone. Click here for more information on the fair.
