BRISTOL, Vt. -

A New Hampshire man suffered second-degree burns after his tractor-trailer caught fire.

Jonathan Prescott, 43, swerved to avoid a deer on Route 116 in Bristol Thursday.

He was taken to Porter Hospital initially and was later airlifted to Massachusetts General due to the severity of the burns.

Police say the cause of the fire is under investigation, but speed and operator impairment are not considered factors.
