MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Vermont's unemployment rate jumped higher last month, to its highest point since January.
The jobless rate in Vermont was an even 5 percent in July-- up three-tenths of a point from June.
The national unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of 1 percent to 8.3 percent over the same time period.
Despite the increase, Vermont still has the fifth lowest unemployment rate in the country.
