PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
Police believe they now know the cause of a crash that killed six people from our region.
Four members of the Dana family, along with 14-year-old Shannon Planty and 59 year old Maryann Gregory -- all from New York's North Country -- were killed when a tractor trailer slammed into their cars, which were stopped at a construction zone on Route 11 in New York.
State Police says the driver of the truck, 45 year old James Mills of Pennsylvania, simply was not paying attention at the time. Prosecutors will review the report this week to determine what charges Mills will face.
