MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Vermont Fish and Wildlife authorities are looking to regulate public activities on land owned by the department.
The proposed rule would allow hunting and fishing on the more than 130,000 acres of land but would limit snowmobiling, mountain biking and horseback riding to specific pockets of land.
The new rule would also give game wardens the ability to enforce the proposed limits.
The board has approved first of three votes.
There is a public hearing Tuesday night in Montpelier at the Pavilion building and another at the Khoe Conservation Camp in Castleton on Thursday. They both start at 6 p.m.
