DUMMERSTON, Vt. -
A close call Wednesday evening after a father nearly drowned while swimming with his daughters.
Vermont State Police were called to Dummerston late in the afternoon for a possible drowning in the West River.
They say a 42-year-old father was swimming with his daughters when he became distressed. They cried for help and were able to pull him from the water.
Two swimmers performed CPR, reviving the man, who was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, and eventually Massachusetts General.
Neither of the children were injured.
