PITTSFIELD, Vt. -
As the anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene approaches, a Vermont filmmaker is releasing her documentary "Flood Bound."
It is the story of the town of Pittsfield as they were drowned out by water, cut off from the rest of the world -- and they fought back.
In the hour-long film Marion Abrams highlights the storm's destruction but also the connection it created among the people in this rural town.
"It was something I wanted to do. Everyone did what they knew how to do the days after the storm -- running a back hoe or running the school. That's what I knew how to do," Abrams says.
Abrams will premiere the film for the town on Sunday at Pittsfield's Town Shutdown gathering.
It can also be seen on Vermont Public Television Saturday evening and in Killington on Tuesday.
