ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont police department says a raccoon found in the cellar of a St. Albans home was rabid.
The strange acting animal was reported in the cellar of a South Main Street home on Aug. 22.
A local animal control officer captured the animal and later euthanized it.
The carcass was sent for testing. The test came back positive for rabies.
