This week, the 2012 Vermont State Champion South Burlington Little League all stars get a chance to ask the Lake Monsters questions. The guys had a slow start to the New England Championship tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, but turned it around quick. South Burlington won 2 straight, including a 10-9 victory over the Rhode Island State champs. In the semifinals, South Burlington played a terrific game against the eventual New England champs from Connecticut, coming up short 4-3 but making the Green Mountain State proud. @
Sammy, a 12 years old first baseman asks, "What's your favorite sports movie?"
Sam Roberts, Lake Monsters Infielder: "Sammy, that is a great question. One of my favorite movies is Rudy. It's a very inspirational story about a Notre Dame walk on football player. He wasn't the strongest, fastest or Biggest, but he worked hard everyday and eventually got to play for one of the best teams in the country."
Ben, an 11 years old pitcher asks, "What's the fastest pitch you've ever thrown?"
Tyler Vail, Lake Monsters Pitcher: "That's a good question Ben. The fastest pitch I've ever thrown was 97 and it was this past May in an Arizona League game."
Noah, a 12 year old Center Fielder asks, "What is the most important catch you ever made?"
Austin Booker, Lake Monsters Infielder: "That's a great question Noah. The most important catch I ever made was in the college world series when I made a diving catch down the right field line to save 2 runs for our team to keep the inning 0-0."
