BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -
A longtime Vermont state lawmaker has died.
Robert Gannett served in the House beginning in the 1953, and then, after a 14-year absence, another 20 years in the state Senate until 1992.
A funeral home in Brattleboro says he died over the weekend. Gannett was 94.
In March, the Legislature passed a resolution honoring his service, praising his common sense, judgment and concern for Vermonters.
