The Newport man accused of crushing several
police vehicles with a huge tractor will be released from prison Thursday
morning.
Roger Pion posted $50,000 bail two
weeks ago, but has been in prison serving time for a previous disorderly
conduct conviction.
Pion will be released into his father's
custody. According to court imposed conditions, he will be allowed to work for
his father's custom cropping business. He cannot drive motor vehicles, but his
lawyer says it is not clear if those rules include the operation of a farm
tractor.
