BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -
Lifelong friends of Vermont Senator Robert Gannett are sharing their thoughts on his legacy.
Gannett passed away over the weekend. The Windham County senator dedicated his life to public service. Along with decades in Montpelier, he also help form the Vermont Community Foundation. Gannett also helped form the Rotary Club in Brattleboro. Friends say he is a model for all politicians.
"He was a loyal person to everyone he came in contact with. He listened to everybody and that made him a good politician, I think. He's the kind of politician we need more of both in Washington and in our state capitals," said Chuck Cummings, Gannett's friend.
Gannett was 94.
