Quebec theft unlikely to impact Vt. maple industry

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Vermont maple experts say a massive maple theft north of the border is unlikely to impact the industry here.

Thieves in Quebec stole so much syrup, that authorities there are still not sure exactly how much. A routine audit at a warehouse discovered inventory was missing. The facility houses $30 million worth of maple syrup.
